Gambaran Pengetahuan Siswa/Siswi Kelas XI IPA di SMA Santo Thomas 2 Medan tentang Vitamin C
Vitamin C is one of the water-soluble vitamins that are very important and frequently consumed by the public. This vitamin can not be synthesized by humans because they do not have the gulonolactone oxydase enzyme. This is a descriptive-study with cross-sectional method. The objective of this study is to know the description of the knowledge of the science class students at Santo Thomas 2 High School. This study has been conducted at Santo Thomas 2 High School Medan, from August to September 2010. The population of this study are the male and female students of the science class. Total population is 250 students. The sampling method is Simple Random Sampling. After calculated, 100 samples obtained. Based on the calculation and processing of the data from the questionnaires that have been distributed to science classes. Among 100 respondents who was studied at Santo Thomas 2 High School, 59 respondents (59%) have moderate level of knowledge, and the remaining 41 respondents (41%) have good level of knowledge. From the data, it can be seen that most of the respondents have moderate level of knowledge about vitamin C. Although the knowledge level of the students at the science class are moderate, it is suggested to the students to know more about vitamin C volume in the tablets, so the students could use vitamin C wisely.
